Coquette Bath & Home™ is a boutique handmade bath, body and home fragrance company headquartered in Fort Worth, TX. Originally a product line created for a gift shop, KARMA, which closed in Decmeber 2006, the first Coquette Bath & Home™ products were produced under the name 'Good Scents Bath Company™' from December 2001 until November 2008.

 

In November 2008, another business began selling online using a derivation of the 'Good Scents' name. At that time, owner Cari Shannon decided to make a change. A total rebrand of the identity of Good Scents into a unique image. After doodling one day, she came up with the 3 posy designs that are now featured on her packaging. A name was needed. And since 'coquette' means flirty, and her images/designs/products are both fun and fragrant, she decided to rebrand as Coquette Bath & Home™. Adding the 'Home' to the name of the business gave promotion to her wonderful home fragrance line that encompasses jar candles, sachets, fragrance oil and Nuggets™ wax melts--a very popular alternative to burning a candle!

 

At Coquette Bath & Home™, nothing remains static. Innovation and experimentation are the order of daily business. After settling into the new name, it became clear that having a more vibrant online presence was also required. So in Fall 2011, work began to formulate a few new products...and to develop a new website look to premiere in 2012.

 

Coquette Bath & Home™ is wholly owned by Cari Shannon. A graduate of Purdue Unversity (BS Marketing/Management), she did her senior level marketing study on the entire idea of a handmade business. And this back in 1982, long before the internet or even the 'high tech/high touch' dichtomy was recognized. An avid crafter, she also writes (any publishers or agents out there? She has 3 manuscripts ready for you!), paints, does home improvement projects (that includes the building of small furniture...yep, she can use power tools), stained glass and more.

 

Although selling scented products online is a challenge, Cari and Coquette Bath & Home™ are enjoying their best year ever in 2011 and already 2012 is looking to be another stellar year. While the business does concentrate on retail sales, wholesale opportunities are always welcome. 2012 will see the introduction of Shea & Cocoa Butter Lotion, the new website launch, and a few dozen new fragrance and product introductions.
